In 2016 I exhibited with Fife artist, Marion Barron and Glasgow artist, Bill McQuarrie at the Iota, Unlimited Studios, Hyndland, Glasgow. Our common denominator was our non figurative imagery. Bill suggested the title for the exhibition, 'Restricted Code' from a term had heard at Jordanhill. It was a reference to linguistics - a particular way of expressing ideas.
Exhibiting with two other people was an entirely positive experience. Such a thing can never be guaranteed and is all the more welcome when it happens. I've been on expeditions where the determination to make things work well, has outweighed the assembled conflicting energy and force of the egos engaged. I've been on climbs where I could happily have thrown rocks at the lead climber. We were blessed with three strong egos reigned in by gentle souls and genuine respect for one another's work. Marion and I, as the relative newcomers were ably guided and advised by Monica and Duncan of www.iotaarts.space and Bill.
Sadly, the high quality record of my work from that exhibition was destroyed by a major wipe out of my external hard drive. All that was left was a very poor reproduction of the twelve images below. If there is anyone out there who bought one of the works from that exhibition, I'd be really grateful if you could send me a quality image of the work?
